Hello Patti and Ted,

Can you please post this on the OCMEA listservs? Thanks!

Hello Oswego and Onondaga County Music Teachers -

Jocelyn Rauch of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and Marsha Wheeler of
Oswego BOCES Arts-In-Ed are planning the fourth annual Scholar's Day
with the SSO on Friday, November 21. The day-long professional
development workshop will feature workshops for teachers of all grade
levels around the SSO's Education Concerts:

*         Latin Fiesta (pre-K - 3)

* The Magic of Science, based on music from Harry Potter (4 - 8)

* Broadway Stars - HS students can audition to perform Broadway
music with the SSO! (9 - 12)

Teachers can also attend the SSO's open dress rehearsal and hear
Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, Berg's Violin Concerto - with recent
MacArthur Award winner Leila Josefowicz, and Strauss' Don Juan.

There will be clinics in the afternoon conducted by SSO musicians -
strings, brass, wind, percussion and vocal. And, the will be an
opportunity to have lunch with the stars of the SSO!

The workshop fees, which include morning coffee, lunch, parking and
materials are $50 per teachers who work in districts that subscribe to
the Oswego BOCES AIE Service; and $75 for non-BOCES districts.
Registration forms will be available soon.

Jocelyn and I are looking for volunteers to help us plan the day. We are
looking to hold a brief meeting one day after school on one of the
following dates: October 6, 8, 16, or 17. Please let Marsha know if you
can participate - mwheeler at oswegoboces.org.

Thanks so much!
