Dear Educators,
As you may know, the SSO has an upcoming concert, Romeo and Juliet in
Words and Music, geared toward high school students.
For 2009, we are currently in the planning stages for another concert,
and I would like to get your feedback on an idea.
The concept that we are exploring is a Broadway-themed concert, which
would involve performances by exceptional students. Students would be
chosen to perform with the SSO through an audition process, and the
desire would be to tie in repertoire with as many local productions as
possible.
To that end, I would welcome any comments about this concept, with an
idea as to how interested your district might be in participating.
It would also be helpful, if possible, to get an idea as to which shows
are being considered for the 2008-2009 school year. This information
would be kept confidential and could be communicated "off list" to me at
tnewton at syracusesymphony.org.
Many thanks,
