Syracuse Children's Chorus Concert

 

Sharing American Song

 

Syracuse - The internationally acclaimed Syracuse Children's Chorus begins
its 27th season with Sharing American Song, a concert featuring all four of
our choirs.  The Chorus will welcome the Syracuse City School District's Dr.
Weeks Elementary School Chorus, under the direction of Mary Juman, as
featured guest artists.  The concert will be presented on Friday, October
12, 2007 at 7:30 pm, at Most Holy Rosary Church.

 

Under the direction of Founder and Artistic Director Barbara M. Tagg and
Associate Director Deborah Cunningham, the Chorus will present selections
celebrating the rich history of American choral music.  Enjoy the diverse
musical history of our wonderful country with selections from Aaron Copland,
Leonard Bernstein, Ned Rorem, William Billings, Charles Ives, Irving Berlin
and more.  Repertoire will also feature flutist Erin Althen performing
Rejoice, My Friends by Betty Bertaux and tenor and alumni Chorister Dominick
Corbacio performing Bernstein's Gloria Tibi.    

 

The concert finale will combine the gifts of the talented young singers from
Dr. Weeks Elementary School and the voices of the Syracuse Children's Chorus
as they perform a moving rendition of Copland's At The River.
