Dear Teachers,

As directors of the Allegro Youth Wind Ensemble, we invite your students to audition for the 2007-2008 season.  In addition to our traditional two-concert series, we are proud to announce that our ensemble has been selected to perform at the upcoming NYSBDA Symposium on Saturday, March 8, 2008.  Allegro's inclusion at this symposium is a confirmation of what we have known for years: Central New York has some of the best music programs in the state!

Auditions for Allegro are November 10 and 11 at Syracuse University, and November 13 at West Genesee and Liverpool High Schools.  Students may call Mr. Caviness at 451-2254 for additional information, or e-mail our program's Administrative Assistant Jessica Fleming (jlflemin at syr.edu) to book an audition time.  Students should prepare a portion of a solo or etude that represents two contrasting styles.  Use of All-County audition material from either Onondaga or Oswego County is acceptable.  A $10.00 audition fee and $125.00 membership fee apply. A limited number of scholarships are available for qualified students.
